Charles William Eliot was an exceedingly brilliant man. At age 35 he was elected as the youngest president of Harvard, the nation's oldest university, and served the longest term in the university’s history.

Therefore, for many it must have come as a surprise when Dr. Eliot said, “I have a conviction that a few weeks spent in a well-organized summer camp may be of more value educationally than a whole year of formal school work.”

Our nation is filled with people from all walks of life who are vocal about how a Faith & Values-oriented outdoor education Program (or, FVP) changed their lives. This is what The Camp-aign for American Kids is all about.

Merely feeling sorry or angry about the shocking increase in violence among today’s youth is not going to keep children safe. The Camp-aign goes beyond talking about what we should, could or would be doing. Now, we have the opportunity to move beyond the woulds.
